Call For Abstracts

We are pleased to invite submissions for abstracts to be considered for presentation at the Vitendo Digital Health Symposium - Africa (VIDIHSA), taking place on 15th & 16th May 2025 at Hotel Africana Kampala City, Uganda.

Symposium Theme and Sub-Themes

Under the overarching theme "From Dreams to Action: Shaping Africa’s Digital Health Future", the symposium will focus on the following sub-themes:

Sub-Theme 1: Health Systems Strengthening for Global and African Health Equity
Sub-Theme 2: Inclusive Transformative Technologies in Healthcare
Sub-Theme 3: Cross-sector and Cross-border Collaboration for Improved Health Delivery
Sub-Theme 4: Data Analytics and Ethics of Technologies such as Artificial Intelligence in Health
Sub-Theme 5: Philanthropy and Sustainable Financing for Health in Africa

Background

Digitalisation is revolutionizing health systems by enhancing the accessibility, efficiency, and quality of care. With the rapid increase in smartphone adoption and the integration of advanced technologies such as telemedicine, artificial intelligence, wearable devices, and big data analytics, digital health has become pivotal in progressing toward Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in Africa. The symposium will explore how digital tools can empower individuals, improve health service delivery, and foster an inclusive, equitable digital health ecosystem.

Abstracts are invited on topics including, but not limited to:

Submission Guidelines

  • Abstract Format: Please submit an abstract of no more than 300 words.
  • Content: Your abstract should clearly state the objectives, methodology (if applicable), key findings or discussion points, and the relevance of your work to one or more of the symposium’s sub-themes.
  • Deadline: The deadline for submission is 18th April 2025, at 23:59 EAT.
